Last week, I added two cities to my Google Maps history: Hamburg and Copenhagen. Ayşe and I flew to Hamburg and took a train to Copenhagen. Although we love train journeys, this route is not recommended (!) It was not a direct route; we had two transfers- one with a bus. The cities were clean, orderly, and by the sea. We have seen most of the touristy stuff, but in addition to them, these are the highlights for me:
I visited Assistens Cemetery where Søren Kierkegaard and Hans Christian Andersen are buried. I have to admit I mostly follow Spinoza’s track of philosophy but who can deny Kierkegaard’s contributions?
This statue is at the Garden of the Royal Library, one last tribute to Kierkegaard.
Then we visited a fantastic library by the canal: Black Diamond.
We ended up visiting Christiania, too. I guess I am too old or too changed to be excited about this human experience but still I would be sorry if I did not visit it:
