Remains of the day; a panel on Brain Rot, nostalgia over a high school WP group, family home changes

I started the day earlier today by attending a panel in Gebze.

I acted as the group’s technophile. When I receive the video, I will summarize my talk.

My parents finally decided to move to another apartment. This is another instance of Istanbul’s massive urban transformation in the face of an impending major earthquake. My brother took this video. Once, we lived in a beautiful neighbourhood in Bahçelievler, but it turned into a concrete jungle. My parents were late in moving. However, their new place is more relaxed and on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. Today, I stopped by them on my return from Gebze. Mum was very stressed about the move, but she seemed relaxed, and my father was thrilled that two of his brothers live in the same building!

Now I am at home, reading through a newly opened high school WhatsApp group for 1994 graduates. Such nostalgia! But what is more strange is that I have very few memories from that period. I became politicized in the middle of my 7-year education there (Nişantaşı Anatolian High School) and spent most of my time in other circles, not hanging out with my classmates. I hope to share more about this in unboxing posts.
