The Ministry might have some innocent intentions (!) by urging single living people to form families because there will be less consumption by being a member of a family. However the image below used for the latest campaign was an immediate reminder of ISIS and its beheadings in our current historical context. Thinking of relative sympathy for ISIS among many Turkish conservatives, this connection is not too far-fetched.
Furthermore, when one makes a quick google image search one will see that the image was in fact produced before for anti-consumption campaigns. As AKP -circles are known to whitewash corruption and a recently made law makes plagiarism in academic circles effectively prevents punishment, this case is again not too surprising…
