Can Erol: Day 4: The Netherlands says “We are in”

The “noisy” campaign continued in its boring harmony in the 4th day. The expectations for a challenging match were high before the kick off of the Netherlands-Denmark game. However, the weather was so hot and it directly affected the performances of the players during the game. The Netherlands has always been a glorious team in the World Cup history with its talented players such as Cruyff, Bergkamp and Kluivert. In this tournament, Elia will be the hot prospect of the team as he showed a remarkable performance in his debut for World Cup. With their powerful midfield system provided by Van Bommel, De Jong and Sneijder, the Netherlands will be one of the top teams of the campaign.
The second game of the day was quite interesting. Cameroon was defeated by Japan with a single goal scored by Sevilla player Keisuke Honda at the Free State Stadium. It was the first victory of Japan on foreign soil in the cup history. However, the second place in group E still requires a tough battle between Cameroon, Japan and Denmark occassionally.
The last game of the day was between Italy and Paraguay. The last champion was on the pitch with a very different squad consisting of Montolivo, Pepe and Criscito. Italy fell 1-0 behind just before the break but in the second half, they made “some” pressure over Paraguay. On 63rd minute, Daniele de Rossi of Roma scored from the box and that moment changed the momentum of the game instantly. However, the efforts of Montolivo and Pepe was buried within the hands of Paraguay goalie Justo Villar.
