News As Culture: Journalistic Practices and the Remaking of Indian Leadership Tradition (Anthropology of the Media) is a new book from Prof. Ursual Rao whom I met through EASA Media Anthropology Network. I haven’t read the book but it is definitely in my list. All reviews point to sound ethnography and I already know she is a substantive figure in media anthropology through her posts in the network discussions. The book is edited in a series, Anthropology of Media, by Mark Allen Peterson Dr. who is the author of Anthropology and Mass Communication: Media and Myth in the New Millenium.
