No doubt, World Painted Blood is not for many of my readers. And I will not even try to persuade people to listen to Slayer if they haven’t done so until now. Anyway, this is another sign of the fact that metal genre is coming back as many old bands have produced satisfactory albums recently: Testament’s The Formation of Damnation, Hordes Of Chaos by Kreator, Endgame by Megadeth and finally Metallica’s Death Magnetic are sure signs of a return. Slayer’s last album reminded me its one of older albums that included many punk covers: Undisputed Attitude Songs are faster and louder but not necessarily dark and satanic as the most classical Slayers songs are. In this sense, many hardcore fans maynot be satisfied with the album but for those like me who have a crush on punk, this is a fantastic production. Slightly punkish thrash in Slayer mode.
