One month in the US (in August)

Sinem and I have been planning a month-long trip to the US. It is all a vacation, but catch-up with friends. I will probably blog as it happens, but let me give you the outline. We will first stay in Detroit. Thanks to Jessica, who has been an early reader of this blog and has become a dear friend. We will probably stop by Chicago. I once went to Chicago for the AAA anthropology conference but never to Detroit. (around one week)

We will then fly to Houston. I have not been to Houston since I defended my dissertation in 2009. Ayhan will welcome us. We may probably stop by Austin, at least. (4-5 days)

We will fly to Irvine and visit LA, SF and San Diego (7-8 days). İrem and Kaan will welcome us in Irvine, and hopefully, I will see George (Marcus) and Kim, too.  I hope to visit a few startups in SF. Let’s see how that goes on.

We will then fly to NY and spend the rest of our time in the region. If we have the energy, we may drive around Vermont and New England.

Our program is relatively flexible, so let me know if you want to catch up somewhere in America that we can stop by!
