Türkiye’s civil society lost a grand person. Rest in peace dear Sezai Hazır

I woke up to hear that dear Sezai had lost his life during surgery last night. He was full of energy and a committed civil society worker and leader. Just before the pandemic, we had a tour of talks in the Black Sea region, talking to university students on entrepreneurship. I can’t believe he has passed away:(

His last tweet:

It is not how long you live in life, but how many friends you accumulate while you live is very important.

We will always remember him as a life-affirming person with an aura that lights us.

A short biography:

Sezai Hazır graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Department of Geodesy Engineering.

After his experience in the private sector, Sezai Hazır took part in the establishment of the Habitat Association in 1996 as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. The association supports sustainable development through strong partnerships, capacity-building activities in the fields of technology, entrepreneurship, and financial awareness, and the establishment of community centers for entrepreneurs.

Sezai Hazır is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Habitat Association and the Vice Chairman of the Young Entrepreneurs Board of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, of which he was one of the founders.
