As the former Minister of Internal Affairs had an alleged affinity with gangs/mafia, we observe a rise in gang-related activities. I watch lots of Tiktok videos recently glorifying gang members. Two news recently:
Police arrest 25 in nationwide op against crime group
Six Turkish gang members fatally shot in attack near Athens
Here is a summary for the last couple of months:
20 July 2023: 20 people were detained in an operation against the Anucur Gang in Istanbul.
22 July 2023: 8 people were detained in an operation against a drug gang in Zonguldak.
25 July 2023: 10 people were detained in an operation against a Georgian gang in Ankara.
3 August 2023: 4 people were detained in an operation against a cyber fraud gang in Istanbul.
12 September 2023: 6 members of an organized crime organisation led by Barış Boyun were killed in Greece.
