According to the KESK’s report regarding the forest fires in Dersim, 140 hectares of land were affected by the fires in the Fırtına Veli area while 340 hectares were affected in Hozat: “Fires in Dersim systematically increase in times of security policies.”
Jailed for nearly five years, former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş has made a statement about the forest fires in Dersim province: “Forests are burned on the same grounds Dersim was bombed in 1938.”
