As HDP’s Democracy March begins under heavy police presence, detentions, Turkey bombs PKK in northern Iraq…

Kurdish issue-focused Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) began its Democracy March on June 15 under heavy police presence and detentions.

The party began its march from the western province of Edirne and the southeastern province of Hakkari, which is expected to end in the capital Ankara on June 20.

The march was kicked off after two HDP deputies and one main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) lawmaker were stripped of their parliamentary statuses.

Against the dismissal of its MPs and mayors, the HDP is starting a march from the northwestern and southeastern edges of the country to the capital, Ankara.

HEALTH AND SAFETY LABOR WATCH: ‘156 Workers Lost Their Lives in May, At Least 29 Due to Coronavirus’

Of 156 workers who lost their lives in May, six were women and six were children, according to a recent report released by the Health and Safety Labor Watch (İSİG Assembly). At least 29 of the deceased died of coronavirus.
