Doğruluk Payı, Turkey’s fact-checking site, a project of Izlemedeyiz (On Watch) Association, is inviting fact-checkers, journalists, and researchers to Antalya, Turkey.
Launched in 2014, Doğruluk Payı has been advocating for a data-driven political discourse in Turkey, and now is expanding its scope by organizing the first regional fact-checking summit co-organized by the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN).
During November 1-2, 2018; active and aspiring fact-checkers from Turkey, the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and the Caucasus will gather in Antalya, a seaside city in Turkey’s Mediterranean coast.
Fact-Checking Summit Turkey 18, will be the first fact-checking summit in Turkey and the surrounding region focusing on regional needs and priorities for fact-checkers.
The two-day long summit will build partnerships among participating fact-checkers and journalists through panels, workshops, and networking activities. The summit is expected to host 50 participants and all accepted participants’ economic class roundtrip flights to/from Antalya and 3 nights accommodation at the hosting hotel will be covered.
There are no country-specific restrictions but applications from the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and the Caucasus will be prioritized. All sessions and workshops will be conducted in English and translation will not be provided
