Turkey fires thousands of public servants in anti-terror purge

18,632 people dismissed include police officers, military, teachers and academics

Turkey has dismissed thousands of civil servants under an emergency decree for alleged links to terror groups.

 

 

The Turkish government ordered the dismissal of more than 18,500 state employees including police officers, soldiers and academics, in a state of emergency decree published on July 8.
