The United States has indefinitely suspended handling all regular visa applications in Turkey, escalating a row after a member of staff at the US consulate in Istanbul was arrested.

US Embassy says recent events had forced it to reassess Ankara’s commitment to the security of US facilities and staff.
The US mission in Turkey and then the Turkish mission in Washington mutually scaled back visa services after a US consulate employee was arrested in Turkey, in the latest sign of fraying diplomatic relations between the NATO allies.
