World Basket 2010 Turkey is now on its 5th day and for Turkey, it is going fabulous up to now. Turkey has 3 straight wins over Ivory Coast, Russia and Greece and it can be said that our team is the biggest nominee for the group title. Ersan İlyasova, Kerem Tunçeri and Ömer Onan are leading the team quite well and I can easily claim that it is the most balanced team in the recent years for Turkey.
Bogdan Tanjevic, whose position has created several debates since the beginning of his Turkey career, is directing his team in a successful way although he cannot show his passion exactly because of his serious disease. Probably, he wants to end his career with a remarkable victory in this campaign.
A tournament brings along many surprise results and in this tournament, these results came from Spain. The last world champion, lost two games against France and Lithuania. The absence of Pau Gasol and Jose Calderon effected their offense deeply. Mark Gasol cannot dominate the center as good as his brother.
There are 2 games left in the group stage. Turkey, USA and Argentina have fixture advantage but all teams are playing very qualified basketball. It is really to hard to make predictions but I can easily say that the level of basketball is totally satisfying.
