Paris, February 11th, 2010 ? During the debate over the French security bill (LOPPSI), the government opposed all the amendments seeking to minimize the risks attached to filtering Internet sites. The refusal to make this measure experimental and temporary shows that the executive could not care less about its effectivity to tackle online child pornography or about its disastrous consequences. This measure will allow the French government to take control of the Internet, as the door is now open to the extension of Net filtering.
Facebook Users Spending 7 Hours A Month On Site
A recent Nielson Company survey of web users found that Facebook users spend an average of seven hours a month updating statuses, sending messages, creating events, playing games, and just generally using the social network. The time spent on Facebook far surpassed the average time spent on any other site examined in the survey.

The latest statistics from analytics firm Compete.com confirms that Facebook has indeed surpassed Yahoo! as the second largest domestic website. While Alexa data suggested that Facebook surpassed Yahoo! on a global level long ago, Nielsen data released yesterday suggests that Yahoo! still has more unique visitors when considering all properties beyond Yahoo.com.
