İHD Prisons Commission has announced there are 1154 ill prisoners in Turkey’s prisons, 402 of which are in serious condition, and that inmates need to be granted the right to access healthcare.
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has ruled that the pre-trial detention of a 13-year-old boy violated the European Convention of Human Rights and has ordered Turkey to pay the applicant compensation, the court announced on Feb. 27.
“I didn’t grow up in this country, but this is the home I chose. I haven’t witnessed history here the same way many of my colleagues have, but that doesn’t mean I don’t know what violence looks like or that I don’t know the pain that conflict can cause”.
