Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has criticized the United States after photos of U.S. special operations forces wearing Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Unit (YPG) insignia on their shoulders during an assault on Syria’s Raqqa emerged.

Turkey has lashed out at the United States after images surfaced apparently showing US soldiers in Syria wearing the insignia of a Kurdish group opposed by Ankara.
