Trial parallel operation of Turkish TSO TEIAS planned to start in September 2010. The island operation tests of the Turkish TSO TEIAS (Türkiye Elektrik İletim A.Ş.) were carried out successfully from 11 to 24 January 2010 in high load conditions, and from 22 March to 5 April in low load conditions. After the successful completion of these tests and the expected completion of remaining technical measures in the Turkish power system in June 2010, ENTSO-E plans to start trial parallel operation of the Turkish system with the synchronous area of Continental Europe from September 2010, for a period of one year.

The academic workshop at the University of Bielefeld titled ?Turkey-EU relations: an Uncertain Future?? was organised in 30 August 2010 with the particular contributions of Changing Turkey in a Changing World and Netzwerk Tuerkei, and the film screening was sponsored by the Bielefeld Graduate School of History and Sociology, University of Bielefeld.


The event started with the opening remarks of Prof. Mathias Albert, who is a professor of sociology at the University of Bielefeld. Prof. Albert began his talk by highlighting that the title of the event should be ?Turkey-EU relations: an Uncertain Future!? with an exclamation mark rather than a question mark, given the current developments.
