EUROPEAN YOUTH: PARTICIPATION IN DEMOCRATIC LIFE

INTRODUCTION
The primary objective of the Flash Eurobarometer survey “European Youth: Participation
in Democratic Life” (No 375) was to study young EU citizens’ participation in society, with
special reference to attitudes towards participation in elections and intentions to
participate in the European elections in 2014. Only respondents aged 15 to 30 were
considered for this survey.
This issue is of particular interest for the European Union, as its Treaties1
stipulate that it
shall encourage the participation of young people in democratic life in Europe. The EU
Youth Strategy2
also underlines the need to support young people’s participation in
representative democracy and civil society.

The survey examined the following issues:
 young people’s involvement in a range of groups and clubs such as sports clubs,
youth organisations and cultural organisations. The findings are compared with
those from the same question which was previously asked in a Flash
Eurobarometer survey “Youth on the Move” (No 319a) conducted in early 2011
 young people’s participation in political elections at the local, regional or national
level, the results of which are again compared with those from “Youth on the
Move” (No 319a)
 young EU citizen’s awareness and intended participation in forthcoming European
elections
 respondents’ awareness of how the members of the European Parliament are
elected
 probability of voting in the European elections in 2014
 reasons behind their expected level of participation in the 2014 European
elections.
Please note: voting is compulsory for at least some elections in Belgium, Cyprus,
Luxembourg and Greece. The voting age is 18 for most of the elections in the EU Member
States and in Croatia, with the exception of Austria where the voting age is 16.

Matthias Bjørnlund The 1914 cleansing of Aegean Greeks as a case of violent Turkification ya da “Şiddet Yoluyla Türkleştirme Örneği Olarak Egeli Rumların 1914’te Temizlenmesi” başlıklı 2008 tarihli makalesinde, daha soykırım ve mübadeleden önce İttihat Terakki’nin Ege’de Osmanlının gayrimüslim vatandaşlarını bölgeden temizleme çalışmalarının ayrıntılarına girer. Radikal’de Ayşe Hür (31 mart) hatırlatıyor: “hedef Ayvalık’taki 12.000, Çanakkale’deki 90.000, İzmir’deki 190.000, Urla ve Çeşme’deki 130.000 Rumun kaçırtılması ve bölgenin tamamen Türkleştirilmesi, Müslümanlaştırılmasıydı.” Bu şiddetli ve amansız operasyonların Rum vatandaşlara mal ve mülklerini âdil bir fiyattan satma fırsatı dahi vermemiş olduğunu, anca canlarını kurtarmak üzere bir tekneyle kaçabildiklerini bilmek gerekir.

Resmî tarih bu operasyonları kanıttan yoksun gerekçelere dayandırır ve bir zaruret olarak pazarlar. Celâl Bayar Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Dergisi’nde Burhanettin Bilmez “Ege’de millî direncin uyanmasında ve millî direniş hareketinin başlamasında Celâl Bayar’ın katkıları” başlıklı 2002 tarihli makalesinde hükümet partisi İttihat Terakki’nin İzmir kâtibi Galip Hoca lâkaplı Mahmut Celal Bey’in (Bayar) tasarruflarını şöyle anlatır: “Bölgeye illegal yollarla yerleşmiş olan (!) birçok Girit, Mora kökenli komitacı Rum’un (Kısaca Celâl Bayar, Baha Akşit, 1987) ve Rum kilisesinin rehberliğinde karşı adalardan getirtilerek (!) yerleştirilen Rum nüfusun tahliyesini (Talat Paşa’nın Gurbet Hatıraları, Cemal Kutay 1983), aldığı tedbirlerle gerçekleştirmiştir.”

Türkçede bu konuda ciddî çalışma, Nevzat Onaran’ın 2011 tarihli Emvâl-i Metruke Olayı -Osmanlıda ve Cumhuriyette Ermeni ve Rum Mallarının Türkleştirilmesi ve Taner Akçam’ın Ümit Kurt ile yazdığı son kitap Kanunların Ruhu -Emvâl-i Metruke Kanunlarında Soykırımın İzini Sürmek dışında pek yok.

Zira bu “sevimsiz” konu millî sırdır, herkes bir şekilde topyekûn gaspa bulaşmıştır. Ermeni Soykırımın kabullenilmesinin önündeki en büyük engel de bir anlamda topyekûn gasp ve talandır.

Akçam’ın tasnifine göre gayrimüslim malları mübadil ve göçmenlere bedava dağıtılmış; Türk burjuvazisi oluşturma amacıyla çok ucuza satılmış; özellikle hayvan ve arazi gelirleri savaşın finansmanında kullanılmış; okul, hapishane ve hastane gibi kamu kurumu haline dönüştürülmüş; tehcir edilenlerin masraflarını karşılamada kullanılmış.

Yüzleşmeye devam, helalleşmeye değil…

Yargıtay 9. Daire

17 ocak 2012’de İstanbul’daki 14. Ağır Ceza Mahkemesi Hrant Dink’in katli davasında sanıklar hakkında öyle skandal bir karar imza atmıştı ki kamu adına iddia makamını temsil eden savcı bile karar itiraz etmiş ve Yargıtay sürecini bir bakıma kendisi başlatmıştı.

Hrant’ın katli ile ilgili karar öyle bir kanlı mizah ki yakın zamanda Yasin Hayal’in babası dahi esas suçluların başkaları olduğunu söylüyordu. Dosya 9. Daire’ye yani zamanında Hrant’ın kendi deyimiyle “idam fermanını” veren daireye gidince bir kez daha irkilmiştik. Nitekim dağ fare doğurdu ve daire cinayetin “örgüt işi” olduğuna, ancak “terör örgütü tarafından değil, silahlı suç örgütü tarafından işlendiğine” hükmetti. Bir nevî Hrant Dink’i öldürmek üzere kurulmuş özel bir örgüt!

Şimdi dava yeniden görülecek ve yeni karar hüküm giymiş veya beraat etmiş olanlardan öteye muhtemelen geçmeyecek. Hâsılı kelam suçluları herkes aşağı yukarı biliyor ama hüküm giymiş olmayacaklar. Agos çizerlerinden Aret Gıcır’ın dediği gibi “örgüt, bir varmış, bir yokmuş”!

Yardım Toplama Kanun Tasarısı

2002-2004 döneminde AB uyumu için yapılan reformlar memlekete pekçok yeni özgürlük alanı açmıştı. Zamanla hükümet, verilenleri yavaşça tırpanlamaya başladı. Dernekleşme özgürlüğü bunlar arasında. Derneğin temellerinden olan yardım toplama hükümetin radarında. İçişleri, Yardım Toplama Kanun Tasarısı Taslağı ile bir darbe kanunu olan 2860 sayılı Yardım Toplama Kanunu’nu yürürlükten kaldırmayı düşünüyor. İyi ama taslak aynı zamanda Dernekler Kanunu ve Medenî Kanunda dernek ve vakıfları ilgilendiren önemli değişiklikler öngörüyor. Taslaktaki pek çok düzenleme hem yardım toplamada hem de dernek mevzuatında idareye, keyfiyete açık geniş takdir yetkileri tanıyor. Turkish Government tries to hide their responsibility for the bombings in Reyhanli by arresting innocent soldiers

Officer in custody over leaks on Reyhanlı attack

A gendarmerie officer suspected of leaking secret documents to a Turkish hacker group has been taken into custody, ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) spokesman Hüseyin Çelik has said as the prime minister called on the media to act in a sensitive manner in such issues.

“This is not an issue of hacking,” Çelik told reporters today in Ankara. “A private from gendarmarie took photos of the documents with his mobile and sent them. This was made clearand he was detained,” he said. The case was a leaking, he confirmed.Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, meanwhile, said during a joint press meeting today with the EU President Herman van Rompuy in Ankara that giving the names of organizations would help their propaganda, warning the media. “These issues are closely followed by the intelligence,” he said.

Some 51 people were killed in an attack in the Reyhanlı district of the southern province of Hatay on May 11. RedHack leaked some documents on May 22 belonging to the Gendarmerie Intelligence Department that claimed that an anti-government group in Syria with links to al-Qaeda was planning a car bomb attack that might occur in Turkey.

“The [documents] were not procured by hacking the Gendarmerie General Command’s website,” Interior Minister Muammer Güler said still in Ankara yesterday. “It was determined that an identified officer at the provincial Gendarmerie command has taken a picture of these papers, which were due to be sent to the subordinate troops, and transmitted to the hackers via email. The investigation on the incident is continuing,” Güler said.

He also implied that the leaked documents were authentic. “Some of the information mentioned referred to intelligence reports on attack preparations of certain terrorist groups. There are some parts related with Reyhanlı,” Güler said. He also added that the Turkish authorities were certain that the May 11 bombings were carried out by individuals linked with the Syrian intelligence agency, the Mukhabarat, as previously stated. “We don’t have any doubt about who organized the Reyhanlı attack.”

Deputy PM Beşir Atalay confirmed that the Turkish officials already had information about al-Qaeda plans. “These are private subjects of the security forces. We are so tuned into the determination of terror. Turkey previously performed very important operations against al-Qaeda. … A group of people were detained in Hatay yesterday as a result of intelligence information,” Atalay told reporters speaking at the 38th International Human Rights Federation Congress held in Istanbul.

When Atalay was asked the reason for the Turkish security forces’ failure to avoid the attack, he said the negligence claims were being investigated by the Prime Minister’s Office Supervisory Board.

Some 18 people have been detained in the Reyhanlı investigation so far, among which 12 were arrested, while six were released pending trials.

Suspect innocent, victim of witch hunt: RedHack

Meanwhile, the hacker group said the officer detained for allegedly leaking the documents was innocent. “If that officer is the person that leaked us information, how is that we knew before them that a witch hunt was launched among the military that they would sacrifice ‘innocent’ officers?” the group said via Twitter.

Redhack had twitted hours before Çelik’s announcement that officials tried to put the blame on a “poor soldier.”

Turkish government is persistently telling lies to the people of Turkey. They clearly knew about the plans of Al-Qaeda to bomb Turkey. This government has always tried to cover up their crimes with avoiding direct responsibilities of their incompetence. They distract the minds by avoiding talking about the real issue. This is what they have done in this case as well by arresting innocent soldiers. They are innocent. Arrest of them doesn’t change the fact that Turkish government turned a blind eye to possibilities of stopping bombs that exploded in Reyhanli.

AKP spokesperson says “This is not an issue of hacking”. We have never claimed it was a hack. He is learning the terms we guess.

These soldiers are currently being tortured and interrogated in city of Sivas. The arrests and detentions of these soldiers is the acceptance by the Turkish government that they were responsible to the Reyhanli bombings.

Arresting the real people who have exposed these documents doesn’t hide the truth about the dirty politics of AKP government that resulted in crime against it’s own people. This government have the bloods of 51 people killed in Reyhanli on their hands.

We will carry on our activities despite the scaremongering tactics of the government and soon or later people of Turkey will get rid of fascist regime that they have been suffering for long time.

Questions to ask to fascist Turkish state and the Justice and Development Party (AKP) government;

Although government knew about these bombs in advance including registration numbers of the vehicles used and other information, why it wasn’t stopped?

If those officers are the persons that leaked us information, how is that we knew before the government that a witch hunts was launched among the military that they would sacrifice ‘innocent’ officers?

Is it a crime to reveal the truths that you have been hiding from the public which resulted in civilian deaths?

By allowing this attack to take place doesn’t the Turkish Government commit a crime?

Prime Minister Erdogan says this issue of bombs in Reyhanli are investigated by intelligence services and media should wait until the results are published. If this is the case why has he blamed Syrian regime for the bombing on the first day? Why he didn’t wait until the investigations to be concluded?

FACT: HE IS A LIAR. THESE DOCUMENTS WE HAVE PUBLISHED HAVE REVEALED THE TRUE FACE OF FASCIST AKP GOVERNMENT. THEY ARE THE CULPRITS OF THE BOMBS KILLED INNOCENT PEOPLE IN REYHANLI.

‘Fatih Projesi 750 bin öğretmene ulaşacak’

İstanbul Bilgi ve Harvard Üniversitesi tarafından düzenlenen Bilgi ve İletişim Teknolojileri (ICT) sempozyumu, uluslararası alandan birçok akademisyenin de katılımıyla İstanbul’da başladı. Eğitim konulu panelde söz alan Fatih Projesi yetkilisi Mustafa İlkhan, ‘Fatih Projesi’nin dışarıdan bakıldığında çok kısıtlı anlaşıldığını’ belirtirken, ‘beş ana konsepte yayılan eğitim teknolojisi sistemi geliştirdiklerini’ anlattı.
