'Turkey - the dilemma of democracy' begins!

The VPRO Dutch television broadcasts 'Turkey - the dilemma of democracy'.

And I am invited to contribute in a parallel activity:

See here the some details (in Dutch): http://www.vpro.nl/programma/tegenlicht/afleveringen/35446086/
Scenes from the documentary will be available online after the 8th of October.

As I am told:

From October 5th until the October 12th  every day one statemement with your views will be posted on the Dutch weblog Sargasso: http://www.sargasso.nl
Daily at 13.00 in Amsterdam, 14.00 in Istanbul.
You will find all of the posts relating to the Dutch-Turkish project through this URL: http://www.sargasso.nl/archief/category/turkije-democratie/

The Dutch VPRO television would provide views of Dutch politicians, writers etecetera... until now I have only seen three persons reacting on the statements:
a Dutch member of the European parliament, a Turkish teacher at the Sabinci University Istanbul and a Dutch Turkish rapper:
http://www.vpro.nl/programma/tegenlicht/artikelen/36891685/ (don't worry on Sargasso we will translate all the Dutch text for you in English)
I hope that they (the Dutch television) will be able to arrange more reactions, nevertheless I was impressed by your contributions: Turkish bloggers and expat bloggers in the Turkish blogosphere. So if the Dutch politicians don't show up we will still have an interesting topic and maybe also conversation.

Normally on Sargasso we write in Dutch but for this unique project we will switch to English.
Hopefully our readers who are used to write and read in Dutch will do so as well so we can have a 'bilateral discussion'.

This project is part of the international Week for Democracy: http://www.whydemocracy.net

The announcement of the Dutch-Turkish blogging project was just posted: http://www.sargasso.nl/archief/2007/10/04/belief-in-democracy/
