Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the government program last week. At the beginning of this week, it will be discussed in the Parliament and the vote of confidence will follow. Program's foreign affairs section is unfortunately the repetition of same old policy positions. The government has apparently difficulties to make proper use of the powerful public support it received from the July 22 general elections in order to tackle chronic complexities of Turkish foreign policy. There is no trace of pondering in the new program, with one exception though, relations with the European Union!
