Erdoğan hits back
PM Erdoğan was quiet angry and we witnessed in prime time news time that he was trying to calm himself when he was targetting a) retired military officials b) extreme nationalist demonstrators in the soldier funerals c) TUSIAD, the most powerful businessmen organization.
Now it is apparent that the PM denounces an army operation into the Northern Iraq. Although he is the head of the executive power, due to special circumstances we are living through, we cannot know if that will happen or not. A nationalist reactionary wave is widespread and it is particularly fuelled by the first two targeted categories. Retired military officials become "NGO" officials, company executives etc and aboundly seen in TV screens. So they are preparing for a "civil" support for "e-coup" attempts. In the mean time, and mostly Nationalist Movement Party militants organizedly appear in soldier funerals and agitate the citizens against the civil political authority. There is the worst kind of exploitation going on here and one wonders to what extent the ordinary citizens will be manipulated with these scenes.
here is what Metin comments...
