Segolene Royal's official campaign poster is out, and a bit frightening, at least in comparison with earlier ones says the French Élection 2007 blog.... If that's not an April Fools Day joke, it is really ugly.... In the mean time, Sarkozy goes all the way on immigration.

Energy efficiency: the EU's action plan

Europe has embarked on an ambitious plan to cut its energy consumption by 20% by 2020 in a bid to reduce its dependency on imported oil and gas and slash its energy bill by an estimated 100 billion euro every year. If it delivers, the plan would also prevent 780 million tonnes of CO2 from being emitted in the atmosphere, or twice the EU target under the Kyoto Protocol on climate change.

 

Europe divided over Kosovo plan

European foreign ministers did not reach a united position on UN Special Envoy Ahtisaari's plan for the future status of Kosovo. The split might resurface in the UN Security Council, which is due to produce a resolution for the country....
