After the exchange rate of US Dollar to Turkish Lira has exceeded 4.90 TRY, İstanbul Stock Exchange has announced that except for its short-term needs, it has changed all of its foreign exchange assets into Turkish Lira.
Muharrem İnce, the presidential candidate of the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), has called on President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to replace his economic advisers, warning that Turkey’s economy is “about to hit a wall.”
The Turkish Lira has slid to a fresh historic low of 4.64 against the dollar following a statement from the credit rating agency Fitch on May 22.
