Hakkı Devrim and Erkan

Last night, I had the opportunity to meet with two veterans of Turkish journalism. Hakkı Devrim has been a long time columnist at Radikal. Not only he has nothing to do with internet, he is determinedly against it. He was our guest at Sosyal Medya TV show and he had a full-scale attack on cyberculture without losing his very-civilized composure. His old age, a generational gap, is offered for his attack but there must be something else.

Nazlı Ilıcak

For, I was myself a guest at another late night TV show that focused on Wikileaks etc and in that a senior columnist Nazlı Ilıcak, generationally closer to Mr. Devrim, was the star of the program with constantly checking her iPhone for the incoming tweets and shaping the discussion (in the mean time, Mr. Devrim still hand-writes his columns). Apart from her politics, one should respect her, a senior journalist, adapting herself to new media revolution…
